| In 2005, Earth Club joined the DNR's Adopt a River Program. This program has interested groups "adopt" a river area. The responsibilities connected with the adoption are a 2 year commitment to help keep the area clean and education about watershed protection.
On May 2, 2008, Earth Club will conduct our semi-annual cleanup of the area just south of Harding High School. While this area does not appear to be part of a "river" it is an ancient riverbed. The area is now a large filtering area for street water run off. The run off brings a lot of trash and a lot of trash blows in from nearby roads and homes. Eventually, this run off travels to the Mississippi River.
Earth Club activities earn participating students volunteer credits.
