Children's Home Society & Family Services is recruiting families for a group at the East Side Family Center/Johnson Elementary School. The group will start sometime in mid February on Thursday nights from 5:30 - 7:30pm.
Families will receive a free meal and have family interaction time for the first hour. The second hour the parents will work with a parent educator from Children's Home Society & Family Services, while children (ages 6-11) have their own group, led by a mental health professional from CHSFS. Child care will be provided for younger siblings and help is available for transportation costs. CHSFS has its own curriculum which covers a range of topics to strengthen families, including discussions about what makes for a strong family, importance of cultural traditions, managing strong feeling, body awareness, boundaries, safety and abuse prevention, circles of supports, etc.
The group is open to all families who have a child between the ages of 6-11. The group is free and the whole family is welcome. Please have anyone call or e-mail Maisie if they wish to join the group: 651-222-0311, ext. 190 or MWolszon@CHSFS.ORG
