What is IB?

International Baccalaureate (IB) is a comprehensive and rigorous pre-university course of studies that leads to examinations for highly motivated secondary students (usually juniors and seniors).

Why IB?

Students enrolled in IB classes receive a rigorous education that best prepares them for the intellectual environment at a college or university.

IB diploma holders are admitted to universities, including the most selective, in more than 102 countries.

What does an IB diploma mean?

The IB diploma is recognized by colleges and universities throughout the world for admission, advanced placement, and advanced standing.

IB Prep

Harding offers a comprehensive IB Prep program that seeks to prepare and challenge students for future success in our Junior and Senior IB diploma program.  Ninth and tenth grade students are enrolled in six courses throughout the five period day through our unique modified block, or “skinny” schedule.  This schedule provides the flexibility for students to take an additional elective that might not otherwise be possible during the normal five period day.

The “9th grade skinny” has American History 9 IB Prep, World Literature 9 IB Prep, and Science 9 IB Prep. The science class introduces IB Prep students to Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, preparing them to choose their area of science emphasis.  The “10th grade skinny” includes World History IB Prep, English 10 IB Prep & Biology IB Prep.
